So What Anchors Are Holding You Back
Just as the boat is anchored, and restricted from proceeding or going any further, is a great analogy to show how so many people become stuck in their lives. You see , so many restrictions placed on people’s thinking, will hold them anchored where they are at present. Your Mind Is Holding You Back From Your Full Potential , and eventually we aim to help you discover your anchors and release them . So many things create these anchors as we are growing up.
We are all exposed to different situations in life, that contribute to us losing the power we were born with, to develop into what ever we want to be. Please do not take this personally, you are where you are today, as a direct result of all your decisions in your past , up until now. Let’s just look back at when we were younger , through until we finished school and began to establish ourselves in the wonderful world of opportunities.
Can you relate to some of this:
*Birth to two
Totally reliant on mum, for food, nappy changes, cuddles, kisses and all the beautiful things associated with being a baby in a family. By two we are generally beginning the wonderful experience of learning to walk, talk and play. Now this is when we also begin to experience , pain when we fall down, being told to stop that noise and be quiet,no more playing it’s time for bed.
*Three to five
Generally by now we are running, jumping, playing and learning to ride bikes, which means more pain when falling off. Mum and family still love us just as much , and they begin to teach us right from wrong so we can grow up to be great citizens. Not only are we repeatedly told to do this, do not do that, stop that, get away, you naughty little child. We are then introduced to discipline and a word that I consider to be a filthy SWEAR word …………. Can’t !!
*Six to ten
We now are beginning to Dream ,and imagine all the wonderful things and places in our life we are going to go and do. We also begin school and start to play with and be influenced by other people, namely other children and our Teachers. The children are quite cool, as they too are at the Dreaming stage of life and we often found ourselves playing imaginary games with imaginary things. Oh ! now the teachers were another matter, you were told to stop doing that, sit up straight, I told you before you will never amount to anything, your bad and so is your friend.
*Eleven to Sixteen
Now life is beginning to get serious, for now you must get good grades so you can get a good job, and you can’t play or muck around like you did before. To indicate to any one you were dreaming of great things or going to be a great person, would have them saying cruel things. These were not meant to hurt us, they were meant to save us from disappointment, they would say things like………do not be silly, stop dreaming, you can’t do that ,and what makes you think you will be one,you are away with the fairies now concentrate on the job at hand.
Holding you back From Your Full Potential
Well my friends, I could write a book about our life from birth till we leave school, and I just may do that eventually. I hope you have begun to see how we are slowly conditioned, by the world around us. When born you are a complete living member of the universe with all that you will ever need to be great, complete and successful in your life time. Then sadly your full potential is in jeopardy as you slowly fall victim to your minds anchors, that are created from being told that often, that you will never be able to or you CAN’T ……. That you no longer Dream or Try….like you once did !
Moving on to The Real World
So here we begin our life’s adventures, just moving out into the workforce ready to use our education, that we were told would get us a good job and make us successful one day. I believe an education is without doubt essential, yet far too many people believe it to be the end all, when it is only a part of a complete and successful life. We are today in the 21st Century still educating children with a 19th Century education system. I will not go any further with that just now, as we need to concentrate on our minds anchors, which at that early age, we are not aware are present.
Life is such a beautiful thing and it was meant to be for all, it is such a shame that so many people become entrenched in society, and the way it conditions us to such a point that we just exist, and give up trying any more. I know because that is where I was at one point, not any more though. I now have set a personal goal to find as many people who want to release their minds anchors , and teach them how to do exactly that. So first of all I must help you find out if Your Mind Is Holding You Back From Your Full Potential . We will continue in the next post, to dig a little deeper for you.
Keep an open mind, it’s your decision.

Hi Allen,
How very true this post is. I don’t think there is a single word for me to disagree with. Our minds do contain instructions, words and phrases that serve no-one, and ourselves least.
Congratulations on this site.
This was to good toread and remind me of where i came from. Some are good memories and some not so good but it was all apart of learning. in all I’m happy to be where I am today, my parents set the path we just had to follow it.
Hi Allen, there’s a lot of things that could hold us back if we let them. Thanks for sharing your insights buddy, we’ve come a long way together
xo
Hi Allen
Great post. Not only does it happen through early childhood but for some people it happens on a daily basis. For some people they don’t know how to combat it, then some people just know how to break through their fears to reach their full potential. For me, I look towards inspirational people get get through some tough times. I looked at Michael Jordan last night on youtube. What an inspiration, not only a great sportsman, but in business and family as well. He was once told when he was young, he would not amount to anything and especially in the sporting arena. That was by his family alone. I guess it goes to show what some people are willing to do.

Cheers Allen. It’s a shame some people don’t break out of this cycle – most of the time they can’t even recognise the cycle. It’s true to say that society conditions us to become workers, rather than embracing our entrepreneurial spirit. Fear of failure is also very strong. A lot stronger than the hunger for success. Although it’s always interesting to read people in their twilight years reminiscing and wishing they would have ‘done that thing they always wanted.’ You only get one chance. And you’re living it.
Hi To you all, and thank you very much for your comments. To help others find and break free from their Minds Anchors has become a real Passion of mine , and this blog is just the start of how I intend to help those looking to break free!
Fisherman
yes very true , i think one should challenge oneself to his/her potential..
to reach the ultimate potential of a human ,,
Hi Fisherman,
One of the biggest challenges is to recognize and admit your mind is holding you back, we are programmed very early on to accept what has been given to us. To break the mold takes courage and determination and i admire anyone who has done this.
Great Post…………..
